I kept looking at the finished picture shown in my last post and every time I did, I sort of cringed. I realized that I just did not like it, so this morning I sanded it back, and have started a completely different painting.
I covered the old image with two coats of neutral color, then put on a combination of brighter colors. After that I penciled out an area that suggested a shape to me, and covered the rest of the painting with a light glaze. The collaged areas will work in giving texture, even though I was sad to lose the colors in the Tyvek piece. So, you are seeing just the beginning, and you have no idea where it's going. Stay tuned! :)
Today I received some new brushes, bottles of paint and these Inktense pencils. I wanted to try them out to see what kind of color they give, so I started with a small box. They also come in sticks, which is supposed to be even more intense. I really like the results and I think when our financial situation improves I may buy the Inktense Sticks!
